PAYTON H. STANTIS

Payton H. Stantis writes about place, ecology, memory, motherhood, and the complicated ways people belong to each other and the places they call home. She serves as Managing Editor of EcoTheo Review and Vice President of Friends of Turkey Creek Nature Preserve.

In 2026, her writing earned second place in both nonfiction and memoir in the Alabama Writers Cooperative annual Writing Contest.

When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found paddling Alabama waterways, hiking, reading, road tripping, baking, or tending to her flock of chickens and ducks.
